A Kosovo delegation, led by its Foreign Minister Skender Hyseni, couldn't attend the African Union council session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia because the delegation members were denied entry visas.
Fonet news agency learned from the Serbian embassy in Addis Ababa that the decision to not issue the visas to the Kosovo delegation came after Serbia’s intervention.

Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic reportedly thanked his Ethiopian counterpart Seyoum Mesfin on this principled gesture.

Speaking at the opening of the session, Jeremic welcomed the fact that as many as 80 per cent of the member-states of the African Union have not recognised Kosovo's independence and called on them to maintain their stance.

"We ask all the countries represented in this room which have not recognized Kosovo to stay the course by not accepting Kosovo's attempted secession. We do so not only in the name of our traditional ties of friendship, but in the name of working together to consolidate a rules-based international order for the 21st century- one in which secession is clearly seen as a dangerous threat, and one in which reaching agreement between the parties is the only legitimate, sustainable way forward," Jeremic said.

He also recalled the history of strong ties between Serbia and the Non-Aligned Movement, the first session of which was held in Belgrade in 1961.

Godišnjica ubistva Srba u Skelanima

Polaganjem venaca na centralnom spomen obeležju i parastosom u crkvi, u Skelanima u mesnoj zajednici opštine Srebrenica obeležena je 17. godišnjica stradanja 68 srpskih civila, koje su na najbrutalniji način ubili pripadnici muslimanskih oružanih snaga.

Vence su položili predstavnici boračke organizacije Republike Srpske, opštine Srebrenica i Bratunac, kao i predstavnici drugih organizacija i udruženja.

Napad muslimanskih jedinica pod komandom Nasera Orića počeo je, prema svedocima, u zoru 16. januara 1993. godine na rubna područja Skelana i tom prilikom je pored 68 ubijenih srpskih civila još 165 ranjeno, a 30 zarobljeno i odvedeno u logor u Srebrenici.

Srpsko stanovništvo je, tražeći spas, bežalo prema mostu koji spaja Skelane sa Bajinom Baštom u Srbiji, koji je bio pod stalnom mitraljeskom i snajperskom paljbom.

Veliki broj je ranjen i ubijen na mostu i u njegovoj blizini, dok su neki pogođeni kada su pokušavali da preplivaju reku Drinu.

Od 30 zarobljenih Srba polovina nije preživela torturu u bošnjačkom zatvoru i logoru u Srebrenici, a sudbina 10 osoba i dalje je nepoznata.

Sva srpska sela oko Skelana, više od 20, muslimani su razorili i popalili tokom rata, kao i četiri pravoslavne crkve.

Zločinci nekažnjeni
Za ove i druge ratne zločine na području Podrinja niko još nije odgovarao, iako su zločini počinjeni nad Srbima dokumentovani i predati nadležnim pravosudnim organima na procesuiranje.

Ni Orić, koji je uhapšen po nalogu Haškog tribunala, nije odgovarao za ratne zločine počinjene tokom rata nad srpskim civilima na području Podrinja.

Orića je Haški tribunal 2006. godine osudio na dve godine zatvora, jer nije sprečio ubistvo pet bosanskih Srba, kao ni maltretiranje 11 zatvorenika, u periodu od 1992. do 1993. godine, a na osnovu komandne odgovornosti.

Orić je, istovremeno, oslobođen optužbi za uništavanje civilnih objekata, za šta nije postojala vojna potreba.

Međutim, žalbeno veće Haškog tribunala je 3. jula 2008. godine oslobodilo je Orića svih optužbi podnetih protiv njega, jer nije dokazana njegova krivica za zločine počinjene nad srpskim stanovništvom. (RTS)

The Kosmet police have interrupted the visit of Serbian Minister of Kosmet Goran Bogdanovic to Strpce, with explanation that he cannot move in that area without the permission of the Kosmet Government. Bogdanovic has asked for the written order of the Provincial Government that he is forbidden from moving through Kosmet, but he was answered that there is only an oral order that he must leave the Province. The Serbian minister assessed that at issue is an irrational act of the interim Kosmet authorities, being that he is a citizen of the Province and has the right move, regardless of his ministerial function. It is a proof that there is no freedom of move in Kosmet and that the Serbs are deprived of that basic human right, underlined Bogdanovic

Грађани Србије су једини позвани да одлучују о својој будућности. У такве одлуке спада и питање чланства Србије у НАТО, на које се легитиман одговор може дати само на демократском референдуму.

Ми доле потписани захтевамо благовремено расписивање референдума како грађани Србије ово питање не би оставили без веродостојног одговора и тако непозванима и неовлашћенима омогућили да на њега одговоре по својој вољи уместо грађана Србије.

Речју да је “Србија исток западу и запад истоку” одређен је и њен пут и њен идентитет и њен положај међу народима. Србија никад није била члан ни једног, било источног било западног војног савеза. А кад није до сад, било би неразумно и погубно да то учини баш сад уласком у једини још преостали војни савез.

Остајући верна себи и својим традицијама, војно неутрална Србија није никакав изузетак. И низ европских држава, чланица ЕУ, нису чланице НАТО из својих принципијелних, историјских, политичких, економских, идеолошких, моралних разлога.

За такав статус, уз све те разлоге, Србија има и један разлог више, разлог какав нема ни једна друга држава, разлог познат читавом свету, а то је злочиначко бомбардовање и уништавање Србије и њеног народа, од стране НАТО алијансе, уз гажење свих освештаних норми међународног права. Тај разлог није извучен из незапамћених времена, нити је за тај злочин одговоран неки други, а не овај исти НАТО.

Преко тог разлога српски народ не може прећи, а да не пређе преко свог памћења и свог достојанства. Уз то, са најважнијих говорница света, Србија је више пута објавила „да никада неће признати независну државу Косово”. А то значи и да никада неће ући у НАТО. “Независно Косово” је дело НАТО алијансе која је ту лажну државу створила и у њој себи доделила врховну и неприкосновену власт. Уласком у НАТО Србија би зато једновремено признала независност Косова.

Као и друге европске државе које нису чланице НАТО, ни Србија не би била ни мање европска, ни мање демократска, ни мање успешна. Остајући војно неутрална, ни Србија се ни са ким не конфронтира, па ни са НАТО.

На путу напретка, стабилности и мира, отворена за сарадњу са свима, чувајући свој суверенитет, Србија би сачувала своју част и обезбедила достојну будућност новим нараштајима. Зато је неопходно да се о овом судбоносном питању изјасне грађани Србије и на референдуму кажу последњу реч.

Bosnian Serb victims remembered - Christmas Day Massacre, 1993

BRATUNAC -- A memorial service in the village of Kravica, near Bratunac, in eastern Bosnia, today marked the 17th anniversary of the 1993 massacre of 49 Serb villagers.

The Bosnian Muslim forces from Srebrenica, led by Naser Orić, attacked the village in January 1993, to kill the villagers and burn their homes.

Most of those murdered were women, children and elderly. Seven were taken prisoner, and died in a in Srebrenica after they were subjected to torture.

More than 1,000 villagers fled, carrying their children and the wounded through the high snow, walking for some five kilometers over mountain passes until they reached the Drina River, and were transported across to Serbia to safety.

After the Christmas Day 1993 massacre, the bodies of only nine Serb civilians were found and buried, while 40 others were discovered and identified two months later.

101 children were left without either one or both parents in this Serb settlement.

Kravica, which had a population of 2,500 before the war, was the target of constant attacks in 1992 and 1993, launched by armed Muslims from the villages around Srebrenica and Brantunac, who in this period killed 152 Serb civilians and soldiers, and wounded 168.

These crimes did not result in any indictments of Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims), while the Hague Tribunal on July 3, 2008, acquitted Orić, charged with command responsibility, citing a lack of evidence.

In the space covering 64 sq kilometers of the Kravica region, Muslims in 1992 and in early 1993 destroyed all villages and hamlets, 30 in all, with all 688 private and 27 public structures were also left in ruins.

26 of those villages are empty to this day. Only in four, a negligible number of refugees has returned, consisting mostly of the elderly.

According to the Republic of Srpska (RS) government, Orić's forces killed more than 1,200 Serb civilians in the area of Srebrenica, Brantunac and Zvornik in 1991 – the first year of the Bosnian war, which ended in 1995.

The Bosnian Serb army intelligence also showed that Orić was leading the attack on Kravice.

Today, the memorial service for the victims was held in the Church of St. Apostles Peter and Paul, and later in the day, candles were lit and flowers placed at a memorial site dedicated to the Serb victims of the Birač region.

A study of the mental health of mass evacuated Kosovo Albanians, conducted by Goeran Roth of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, revealed serious psychological problems, including post-traumatic stress disorder and clinical depression, and a greater sense of displacement than other migrant communities. The study was conducted in Sweden but tallies with results from many societies that took in war-scarred Bosnians or Kosovars. "

Most crimes that are not reported are inter family/neighbourly conflicts from, shooting, stealing, rapes, attempted rapes and physical assault.

The rural areas are where most crime is committed and not reported.

Example: Father/Uncle/Grandfather/Brother/Cousin attempt or sexually abuse juvenile family member and the daughter is usually found hanging in the barn or in hospital after drinking cleaning chemicals. In whole, a lost society...

“Peja” street, Restaurant “Arra”, Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje, (EN 076 205), 01.01.2010, 05:15 hrs. A fight and shootings with fire-arms by three K-Albanian male suspects reported. Police went at the scene and confiscated a pistol type “TT”, two magazines, 16 bullets, three knives and three cartridges caliber 7.62 mm. After being interviewed upon prosecutor’s order suspects were released whilst the case was sent in regular procedure.\

“Naim Syla” street, Prishtinë/Priština, (EN 249 134), 01.01.2010, 16:50 hrs. A K-Albanian male complainant reported that during the night his vehicle was damaged by a fire-arm projectile of an unknown caliber. No possible suspects reported

Letanc/Letance village, Podujevë/Podujevo, (EN 152 531), 01.01.2010, 17:30 hrs. A K-Albanian male complainant reported that inside the house his brother committed suicide with a fire-arm type “TT”. Police found the weapon after the victim’s sister threw it in the well.

Zhegër/Žegra village, Gjilan/Gnjilane, (EM 400 908), 01.01.2010, 10:30 hrs. A K-Albanian male witness reported a suspicious explosive device. Police and KFOR EOD unit went at the scene and destroyed the device without incidents.

Gotovushë/Gotovuša village, Shterpce/Štrpce, (EM 058 776), 01.01.2010, 00:05 hrs. A K-Serbian male suspect during celebration of New Year shot with pistol and wounded a K-Serbian female. Victim was sent at Graqanicë/Gracanica hospital. The weapon M57 and two magazines with seven (7) bullets were confiscated. After being interviewed, upon prosecutor’s order suspect was released.

Prelez i Jerlive village, Ferizaj/Uroševac, (EM 130 957), 01.01.2010, 00:10 hrs. A K-Albanian male complainant reported that during the night his vehicle was damaged by projectile of a fire-arm. No possible suspects reported. Vehicle sustained minor damages.

Manastirc/Manastirce village, Ferizaj/Uroševac, (EM 081 898), 31.12.2010, 23:25 hrs. A K-Albanian male suspect as being drunk assaulted his family members. Police went at the scene and confiscated a semi-automatic rifle (broken). By the order of prosecutor case is sent in regular procedure.

“Mic Sokoli” street, Rahovec/Orahovac, (DM 717 942), 31.12.2009 – 01.01.2010, 18:00 – 01:30 hrs. A K-Albanian male victim reported that unknown persons breached into his house (while nobody being in the house) and stole an amount of gold worth €4000 and €100 cash.

“Besim Shala” street, Prizren/Prizren, (DM 774 738), 01.01.2010, 00:15 hrs. A K-Albanian female is under treatment in Prizren hospital after being wounded by a stray projectile of fire-arm.

“Halil Hamza” street, Rahovec/Orahovac, (DM 717 942), 01.01.2010, 01:40 hrs. A K-Albanian female reported that she was physically assaulted and hit with hard device by her husband K-Albanian male who was intoxicated. Police units went at the scene. The victim was sent for medical treatment whilst the suspect is being held at police station.

Deçan (DN-419/097) 01.01.2010. 01:00. K / Albanian male complainant the security worker at the municipality building reported that unknown persons shot with fire weapons towards the building and that run away to unknown direction. The corresponding police units attended the scene and they found few shells. The damages on the building have been recorded. No injuries reported (Case# 2010-DC-001) 00008

Street - Abedin Terbeshi Gjakova/Djakovica (DM-530/918) 01.01.2010. 02:50 The K/Albanian male victim reported that he was shot and wounded by the K / Albanian male suspect. Police arrested and on prosecutors order detained two K/Albanian male suspects.

(Case# 2010-DB-001) 00017. Street: Brigada 131, Deçan/Decane (DN: 419-095) 01.01.2010 15:15 min. K / Albanian male complainant reports that he found suspicious explosive ordnance. Police units secured the area. The KFOR demining team attended the scene and took the ordnance.

Village: Qyshk, Pejë/Pec (DN: 465-230) 01.01.2010 09:45 min.K / Albanian male complainant reports that he found suspicious explosive ordnance (A6 type). Police units secured the area. The KFOR demining team attended the scene and they detonated the ordnance at the scene. No reports about any injuries or material damage.

(2009-DA-0005)00031Village: Trebovic Pejë/Pec (DN-47.0/25.1) 01.01.2009 11:00min. K / Albanian male complainant reports that he found suspicious explosive ordnance in the field in Trebovic village. Police units secured the area. The KFOR demining team attended the scene and they detonated the ordnance (hand grenade AG type) at the scene.

Case# (2009-DA-0006)00032 LIGHT BODY INJURY (case # 2010-BA-0001)00020 Street: Kral Petri Mitrovicë/ Mitrovica (DN-889-493) 01.01.2010 01:51 min. There has been a fight between the K /Serbian male suspects. Police attended the scene and three male suspects have been arrested. The victim K/Serbian male sustained body injuries and the same was sent for medical treatment. They were not able to contact the prosecutor and the suspects were sent to detention centre.

BODY INJURY (Case#2009-2010-BH-002)00030. Zubin Potok (DN-746/513) 01.01.2010, 03:30min. A fight involving five K/Serbian male suspects has been reported. The police intervened in order to stop the incident. Two persons have been injured and medically treated. On prosecutor’s order four suspects have been detained.
ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF WEAPONS (Case#2010-BA-004)00029. Street: Bore Stankoviq-Mitrovicë/Mitrovica (DN-894/489) 31.12.2009 12:00min. Serbian male complainant reported that the K/Serbian male suspect pointed the weapon towards him but one neighbor intervened and removed it. On prosecutor’s order police searched the house of the suspect and they found and seized one automatic weapon M70-AB2. After the interview the suspect was released for regular procedure.

Gunman Kills 4 in Finnish Shopping Mall
Police in Finland say the gunman who killed five people Thursday before committing suicide apparently chose his victims.

Ibrahim Shkupolli, an ethnic Albanian from Kosovo, killed four people in a shopping mall in the town of Espoo. He also killed his former girlfriend in her apartment in the same town. He then apparently committed suicide in his own apartment.

Chief investigator of the National Bureau of Investigation Esa Gronlund told reporters Friday that Shkupolli did not appear to fire at random. All five of his victims were employed at the same Prisma grocery store in the town's Sello mall. It is not yet clear if Shkupolli knew the three men and a woman he shot at the shopping mall.

Police say his former girlfriend, a Finnish woman, had a restraining order against him because he had allegedly threatened to kill her.

Officials say the 43-year-old Albanian came to Finland in the 1990s, but could not obtain Finnish citizenship because of his criminal record, which includes illegal possession of a gun.

Finland has one of the world's highest rates of civilian gun ownership because of its long tradition of hunting.

But two deadly school shootings in 2007 and 2008 have prompted calls for tougher gun laws.

Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen said in a statement Thursday the incident raises renewed questions about Finland's firearm laws.
